Rainbow Gets Girls Ready for Life!
The International Order of the Rainbow for Girls
Grand Assembly of Oregon
Service
The cornerstone of Rainbow is service to others. Through opportunities for service, girls learn that no matter their age, they can help make the world a better place.
Leadership
Rainbow girls can choose to hold different positions with varying degrees of responsibility. These positions provide an opportunity for the girls to learn how to manage projects and lead others.
Sisterhood
Girls learn that they are sisters in spirit, and their Rainbow “family” is always there to encourage and support them. There are opportunities for travel and friendship with other Rainbow girls both in the United States and abroad.
What Is Rainbow?
The International Order of the Rainbow for Girls is a nonprofit service organization for girls between the ages of 11 and 20. Rev. W. Mark Sexson founded our order in McAlester, Oklahoma, in April 1922. He sought to develop an organization where young women could build self-confidence and leadership skills while serving their community. The organization promotes community service, as well as love and service to their schools, their homes, and to each other.
